It's fucking criminal that the useless streak of piss Valencia got the nod. He has to be dropped or Billic could lose the crowd.

I've said it a couple of times, but my argue for Nordveit starting in a "Midfield 3" over Noble is I feel technically Noble and Nordveit are very similar players and when both are in the team it would slow things down too much in the middle, to be fair they both had shockers last night. The only reason I would go with Nordveit over Noble is he is a proper DM wheras Noble I feel is more of a CM, over the season Nordveit in that deep role with Kouyate and Lanzini ahead would offer more creativity, that's just my opinion though and I can see the argument for Noble playing ahead of him too.

It's simple - We had the misfortune of having the worst referee in the premier league.
Total bottle-job who was about to book Costa for the Adrian foul, but then shit himself cos he realised he would have to send him off.

Midfield 3" - This will upset a lot of you as most think Noble is undroppable, but sadly, if Bilic plays a 3, when everybody is fit the best 3 would have to be Nordveit, Kouyate and Lanzini as you need that creativity in the 3 to move things forward, having Noble/Nordveit is too much of the same thing and it really tells as the midfield slows to a halt at times.

Based on Monday, you'd struggle to make any sort of case for Nordtveidt to be picked ahead of anyone.

Agree, though, that Lanzini was a huge miss. In fact, I think he's always been the biggest miss whenever he's been absent.

The ref saw enough of Costa's challenge to give a free kick so he broadly knew what happened.
When he gets there and sees stud marks in Adrian's leg closer to his knee than his ankle there is nothing wrong with him taking his time and then making a card decsion.
I think it was a red card (studs up and dangerous) but if the ref had settled on a yellow I could have almost understood it unless his linesman helps him out.
To give neither is ludicrous and just cowardice.

Re: Chelsea (A) Review
I think the frequent dwelling on the ball by any of our midfielders, and even attackers, was because of a lack of options in front of them, plus a clear lack of willingness by the full backs, particularly Masuaku, to get forward much beyond the half way line (possibly instructions from Bilic), and when Antonio did get forward he often didn't receive the ball, either because he was ignored or it was a poor attempt to pass to him. Then he would be out of position, and I didn't feel that Nordtveit did a very good job of covering that scenario, and more often Collins, Noble or Kouyate were doing it. I don't think we'll see that line up again once the full squad is available, or even when Payet is fit for 90 minutes. I have a feeling Bournemouth are going to be on the receiving end of a proper tonking as a reaction to this game.

Re: Chelsea (A) Review

The commentator last night kept on going on about it being his right to go for the challenge, as if that's relevant. The point isnt whether you have a right to go for a ball, it's whether you miss it by miles and go studs into someone's shin that really counts.

Hammers 1993 has hit nearly every nail squarely on the head with that opening post. A decent read in my book.

Pre season for us and clips on YouTube. And yes, you can tell he is a deeper playing DM from that. Like I said it's just my opinion and I can still definitely see the argument for playing Noble over him, but I stand by that not working as a 3 and him being the weaker link because of the lack of creativity and needing Lanzini in there.

Costa...second yellow and OFF...Homer Ref Bottled it...

Why no mention of Collins...Great Goal...and poor defending for their winner...

Also...Tore...Invisible Man...

Despite some excellent displays by Hazard...Willian...Kante...Costa...they didn't really have too many clear goal chances...mostly contained by our MF and defence...

Scored via penalty gift and defensive error in last minutes...

Artur at LB impressive debut...

Can I add...Antonio should have been at RW with Byram at RB....or at least when Ayew was off...

We don't have an effective striker/goalscorer/goal threat...so Antonio was wasted at RB...

Over the last few years we've been cunted by Chelsea getting little joy from them. Personally I think we were closer than many on here seemed to think. That said I think we'll get less from the top 8 teams and more from the bottom 12 this season.
Calm down.

Re: Chelsea (A) Review
It was a booking. I think the ref was giving him the benefit of the doubt, as opposed to bottling it though. We'll have players who stay on the pitch this season, when they should be off, and vice versa. It happens. Of course I'd be a lot more upset if we'd lost Adrian for six months to injury, but hopefully nothing worse than a nasty bruise.

I have absolutely zero issues with Costa going for the ball, he was quite within his rights and I would have expected any of our players to make that challenge as well...BUT it end up being a poor, high, late challenge with studs showing.

Whether or not he was entitled to go for it or whether or not Adrian should have been fucking around like he was is irrelevant. It ended up as a foul that warranted a yellow card.

How can that even be in debate?

simon.s 2:51 Tue Aug 16
Re: Chelsea (A) Review
Far from it. He knows if he gets anything on that ball, it goes in. He gambled, and it was a poor challenge in the end, but like I said, our keeper should have got rid of it first time. Take the claret & blue specs off for a minute.

Chelsea last night were a big step up on last season.
Other than the ones mentioned by Bushey even Matic looked like he could run and Ivanovic wasn't a walking nightmare.

Re: Chelsea (A) Review
Well let's not ask our midfield players to fuck about with the ball either then in case we cop one like Payet did from McCarthy last season. Was that Payet's fault?

simon.s You have watched it haven't you. Genuine attempt for the ball. You are a Chelsea cunt on a fishing trip arn't you. Fuck off back to the rent boys you cunt

simon.s 2:41 Tue Aug 16
Re: Chelsea (A) Review
As much as a cunt as Costa is, I think he's made a genuine attempt to get the ball, as opposed to hurting Adrian. There's a lesson to be learnt though. Don't fuck about with the ball there.
